In this article, Michael Horton does a tremendous job in describing how our Christian faith is often manipulated, misrepresented, and maligned by candidates, supporters, and the media during the political process of electing U.S. presidents.
I am opposed to churches who engage in political advisement services when they should be teaching the Word of God and proclaiming the Gospel of Christ Jesus, and I stand equally in opposition to secularists who attack Christianity on the basis of the religious convictions and faith practices of political candidates. Let’s face it – very few prominent political candidates today belong to congregations and/or faith traditions who embody confessional Christianity as handed down by the apostles of Jesus.
